Tiana Ramos Littles, CD(DONA)

My name is Tiana, I am a DONA-certified birth doula as well as a trained Placenta Encapsulation Specialist.  I feel honored to be able to share my knowledge with families in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.  As a doula, I provide prenatal support and education as well as non-medical support during labor, birth, and postpartum.  Non-medical support includes education; support physically, mentally, emotionally, and energetically.  My role as a doula is also to act as an advocate for the parents and their family!  Doulas not only supports the birthing person, but the partner, children, and other family members as needed too.  We are not here to replace partners but to support, assist, and aid in the connection during this beautiful, miraculous experience. 💛

More about me personally, I have birthed two beautiful children. I chose to have unmedicated births, but understand that doulas are for every type of birth no matter who is birthing or what route you take for pain management.

Each of my births were very different and transformative in their own ways as any birth usually is. 

Part of my mission in becoming a doula is to serve my community in assisting teenagers entering parenthood as well as low-income families that may not be able to afford a private doula. I firmly believe that everyone deserves to have a doula if they would like one. Both the mother and partner need support during this life-changing time in their lives; whether it be their first child, second, etc. The family dynamic is changing no matter what and I've never heard of anyone having too much support!

Your birth experience is so significant and can drastically affect the type of parents that emerge.  In birth, the baby is not the only one being birthed, but the parent as well.  The support and care received may greatly affect a parent's overall feelings and how they navigate through the postpartum period.
